A Farewell from Mrs Lighty to #DreamTeam

Happy New Year Dream Teamers!!

I hope you all had good ones? How many of you made it til midnight, eh?! You may be shocked to hear that Mrs Lighty was up until 2am! We have just got back from a wonderful week in Holland, where we saw in the New Year with my family. It was incredibly beautiful, and there will be more on this to follow on the blog shortly, but one thing I will say is that the Dutch sure like a firework at New Year!!

And so now it’s back to reality, and it’s with a heavy heart that I have to say that my time with #DreamTeam is up. When Annette from 3 Little Buttons asked Dawn from Rhyming with Wine and I if we’d like to guest co-host #DreamTeam with herself and Bridget from Bridie by the Sea during the Christmas period, I think I can safely speak for the both of us when I say that we jumped at the chance. Annette and Bridget have since asked us both of we’d like to continue as regular co-hosts, and whilst Dawn has said yes to joining the team that is the dream as a full time co-host, it is with regret that I have to say as much as I’d love to continue, due to copywriting and Baby Lighty commitments, I haven’t got the time to dedicate to the linky to the extent that I’d like to at the moment.

I’m very much hoping, however, that this will be more of an Auf Wiedersehen rather than a complete goodbye, as I’ll still be back every now and again as holiday cover. These linky hosts deserve a break or two every now and again, after all!!

Of course the most enjoyable thing about co-hosting a linky is getting to know new bloggers, as well as reading more from bloggers that I already know and love. It’s been really tough choosing favourite posts every week, that’s for sure. This week, however, I’ve chosen Parenting with Chronic Pain by Bad Mammy. I really liked the way it was written, with the different examples of how her condition affects the ways she parents. I think many of us take our health for granted at times – myself included – and I know some of my friends suffer from chronic illnesses and pain that I’m probably more ignorant of than I should be. I imagine it was a very difficult post to write, so thank you to Lisa for sharing this with #DreamTeam.

My second pick this week is from James of A Life Just Ordinary. His Blog Review of 2016 and Aims for 2017 really made me giggle, mostly because I could see a lot of myself in his post! The day that The Unmumsy Mum followed me on Twitter I nearly feel off my chair in shock (she also once ‘liked’ one of my tweets, but, you know, who’s counting?!!), and one of my New Year’s blogging resolutions is not to be so hung up on stats. We’ll see if I manage it.

So I know you said you hadn’t won any awards for your blog yet James, but how about you and Lisa help yourselves to nice shiny featured bloggers’ badges instead?!

Of course, #DreamTeam still lives on, and if you’d like to link up this week, you can do so via one of the following links:

Annette at 3 Little Buttons

Bridget at Bridie by the Sea

Dawn at Rhyming with Wine

And so that’s it from me when it comes to #DreamTeam. Annette, Dawn and I will be back with #HappyLittleButtons later on this week, but in the meantime I’ll just say, “So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye, #DreamTeam!” It’s been a blast!!

  1. Aw lovely Mrs L! We’ll miss you! It’s been such good fun guest hosting with you through December, and I’ll look forward to you popping back to join us over holibobs. So pleased you’ve had a fab time in Holland. Dx

  2. Sounds like you had a fab New Year! Well done for managing 2am.

Thanks for co-working this awesome linky in December. I only first linked up mid-November so have grown used to you being here! Will be weird without you. Good on your for realising you couldn’t do it on top of everything else; it’s so easy for us all to take on too much and then feel yet more Mum Guilt!

See you when you make a holiday guest appearance x

    1. Aww thank you, that’s such a kind thing to say. I’m so sorry that I couldn’t carry on at the moment; as you say, I was tempted to say yes and try to take on it all but I think it’s best that I say no and not let all of the linkers and my cohosts down. Thank you so much for linking up each week, we really do appreciate it! xxx
