Happy Little Advent Buttons!

Welcome to my Christmas Buttons’ post!
I’d like to thank you for the, err, year*
So I’m sending you this Christmas post
To say it’s nice to have you here

I’d like to write about all the things
Your eyes on Instagram can see
So hop aboard the Buttons’ bus
And step into Christmas with meeeee!

*Ok, ok, so it’s not quite been a year, it’s more like I’d like to thank you for the 3 months of #HappyLittleButtons so far…!  And yes I am butchering the genius that is Elton, but here we are again for another edition of Happy Little Buttons, and this one’s a bit of an extra one in the schedule: Dawn from Rhyming with Wine, Annette from 3 Little Buttons and I have been loving all of your advent photos, and as such we felt that we couldn’t not pick an extra highlight of the month so far.

How have all of your advents been so far? We’ve been enjoying lots of Christmas outings, meeting Father Christmas, enjoying our baby groups’ Christmas parties and generally ticking things off of our Christmas bucket list. The tree is up, the presents are, erm, not wrapped (they probably won’t be until Christmas Eve either!) and we’re feeling decidedly festive here at Lighty HQ!

Dawn and I have also joined forces with Annette and Bridget from Bridie by the Sea for this month’s #DreamTeam linky, which we’re loving! It’s definitely kept us busy, but I’ve so enjoyed discovering some new blogs and also reading about all of your Christmassy adventures!

And I know you’ve all been enjoying adventures, because we’ve seen them over on Instagram! And so without further ado, I’ll move onto my highlights of the month. I tried to narrow this special advent post down to a theme like I normally do, but to be honest there is so much I love about Christmas that I couldn’t. If you read my last post of 2015, you’ll know that there were plenty of things I was looking forward to as a new parent at Christmas. Well, it turns out that I’ve looked forward to all of these things and more this second time around!! So with that in mind, my favourite post of my own is this one:

Baby Lighty was not overly impressed with his first visit to see Father Christmas, nor was he impressed with the Father Christmas mannequins in the main garden centre, and they all warranted snuggling into Daddy’s neck for protection from these strange men dressed in red!!

From Dawn, I’m picking this one of Miss Tot:

She just looks so cute and cosy nestled by the fire, her two elves driving off into the sunset in their little pink car! I can’t wait until Baby Lighty is old enough to really appreciate Elf on the Shelf!

And from Annette, I’ve picked this one:

Who can resist all of that pink, the cuteness and the candyfloss?!

Now onto our wonderful Instagram community and the highlight shot of the month. For me, that honour has to go to Top Five Mum with this bundle of cuteness:

I loved dressing Baby Lighty up in cute little outfits last year, and this year he has every type of Christmas jumper going, so I had to go for this one, it’s adorable!! If you haven’t already checked out Top Five Mum’s feed, do go do so, as there are some lovely images to be had on there.

So this is Mrs Lighty of #HappyLittleButtons wishing you all a Happy Little Christmas! Have the most amazing time, we’ll look forward to seeing all of your Christmas posts on Instagram in the coming weeks!

    1. Ah thank you! I know, me too, there is less getting away with the novelty outfits this year…although a certain Mrs Withy that we both know has given me one of her twins’ hand-me-down candy cane sleepsuits for him to wear, ha!! xxx
