Hello my Happy Little Buttons!
How are we all? Enjoying the Spring sunshine? It’s been beautiful here today and we’ve been having lots of fun in the garden. I know that you have all been enjoying the weather too, of course, because I’ve seen your beautiful photos within our wonderful community over on Instagram, #HappyLittleButtons, which this month has gone past the 7,000 tagged photos mark. I seem to say it month in, month out, but we’re always so overwhelmed by the amount of gorgeous photos that we’ve got to choose from.
This month, with my second Mother’s Day under my belt, I’ve decided to go with the theme of all things mummy love. With this in mind, here’s my favourite photo from my Happy Little Buttons co-host, the lovely Dawn at Rhyming with Wine:
I love this shot of Dawn and her Mummy on an outing. I have been reassured that lots of cake and shopping were involved!
From the lovely Annette, my second Happy Little Buttons co-host, I’ve gone for this one of her and Little Button enjoying a non-traditional commute around our beautiful city, our beautiful city which has gone through so much this month:
Annette, from 3 Little Buttons, works in Westminster and I know from conversations we’ve had since the terror attacks last week that they have played heavily on her mind. But I also know that they won’t stop her from enjoying this city that she calls home!
For myself, I’ve gone for this one:
I know that I’m not actually in it, but this was a beautiful moment for me this month. Not only did my little chap greet me with flowers after I’d just got in from a long day at work, but he also told me that he loved me for the first time that night! And yes, Mrs Lighty did cry like a baby at this turn of events…
There’s always so much Mama love from within the community, and I love that many of you manage to get in the shots with your little ones fairly regularly. I feel like I don’t get enough lovely photos with Baby Lighty. I’ve therefore gone for these four for my favourite shots:
Firstly, my lovely friend Azaria from Being Mrs Lynch and her gorgeous daughter Ailsa. We were actually both members of the same Facebook baby group before we started blogging, together with Abi from Something About Baby, and I always marvel at what a small world the internet is. I love this mother-daughter moment, and apart from the smiles and the sunnies, anyone that follows my own Instagram will recognise that I also love the light in this photo!
Next, I’ve chosen this one by Hayley from Sparkles and Stretchmarks. I’m a big fan of Hayley’s blog, and I love this shot, which is actually a fourth birthday photo. Got to love some mother-son matchy matchy superhero outfits!
Then this shot by Mel Farnell caught my eye. It looks like just a really lovely, ordinary moment, out in the sunshine, enjoying a family day out. Any mum will also recognise that aspect of being constantly climbed all over too, but Mel manages it with a smile on her face!
Lastly, but definitely not least, I’ve gone for this one of three generations of mums and daughters by Biscuit Please Mummy. It’s a beautiful shot and I love the words that go with it too:
So that’s my little tribute to all of you wonderful mums out there. I hope you all had wonderful Mother’s Days (even if I have decided that Mother’s Day is overrated!!) and I’ll look forward to seeing all of your mummy adventures over on #HappyLittleButtons next month!
